Mini-Grant

Federal money for special education services is given to state educational agencies in the form of grants.  Each local school district must write a budget and submit it to the Mississippi Department of Education before it is granted to the local district.  Grant-writing is a complicated and tedious process.  Every grantor has specific criteria that must be met.  The mini-grant assignment is a very small example of what is required.  Special education classrooms, students, and teachers can always use money for instructional purposes.
